Turtles store ice in their bodies by allowing their blood to cool down, which in turn cools down their organs and tissues. This process is known as freeze tolerance. When temperatures drop, turtles can survive by slowing down their metabolism and using the stored ice as a source of water. This adaptation allows them to survive in cold environments where water sources may freeze over. **
